Doxxing
Doxxing is when someone shares your personal information—like your name, address, phone number, or workplace—online without your consent, often to embarrass, threaten, or harm you. Even seemingly harmless details can be pieced together and weaponized.
What You Can Do

Report It
Alert the platform where your info was shared and ask friends to report it too. Find out more on reporting to social media here.

Lock Down Your Accounts
Make social media private or temporarily deactivate. Delete old accounts that may still hold your personal details. Check your accounts here.

Strengthen Security
Change passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and limit what’s publicly visible online. Learn how you can create and maintain strong passwords with Security in a Box and Surveillance Self-Defence.

Stay Safe
If your location has been exposed, consider relocating temporarily. Let a trusted person know your whereabouts through a secure channel.

Monitor & Document
Keep track of any threats or further leaks. Take screenshots, save links, and note details (date, time, source) in case you decide to report.
Know Your Rights
There are currently no specific laws in Malaysia that addresses doxxing.
